It was a true thrill to join you and Emily in the virtual yoga class. My monkey brain somehow stayed focused for the whole hour of class. Fresh ideas seemed to flow in and around me. I'm thrilled that you are continuing to find yoga to benefit mind, body, and soul. Keep up the great work!

I so understand about the hypervigilance. It is exhausting to be "on" so much of the time. I'm happy for you that you have this new source of learning and support.

I agree. I understand this hypervigilance as a way to control my future by being prepared for anything.

It sucks since so much is out of our control anyway.

So true! A few months ago, I was stressing myself to death about an important situation that I absolutely could not control. I didn't want to control it either. I desperately wanted a good outcome for all involved.

My dear husband said to me, "Wisdom. The wisdom to know the difference."

He was referring to the Serenity Prayer:

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

I have heard that, read that, known that for decades. But that day it became the most profound thing I have ever heard. The word wisdom became my mantra. It helped me see that all of my worry was only harming me. It was doing no good. I was finally able to let go. I hope you find a way to let go too. You deserve to have peace. 💕

It is exhausting. I am finally feeling some relief from it through this little bit of yoga and meditation. And through writing, writing, writing, of course. The other component is the word "Wisdom". See my comment to Janet below. I'm so thankful they are working to take the edge off. Hope relief comes for you too. You deserve to have peace in your mind, heart, and body. 💕

I'm so glad you found Emily's yoga class! What a blessing she has been for our community. As I get older and my body gets stiffer, I've noticed what a difference stretching and yoga makes.... for my body and my mind. But poor Ripple, he just wants to do downward dog with you!

True! He does want to do downward dog - and maybe wrestle and pummel me - all in good fun, of course! I’m so happy that stretching and yoga are helping you too. 🐶✍️🥰

I am sad I missed the class last week, but you described it beautifully. 😍 I have had many years of yoga, and my staffy has been with me for 13 of those years. She still thinks it's time to play when I roll out my mat. It took me a long time to realize she was right. She and I still have a lot of trauma left in our bodies but she reminds me to breathe every day.

Our precious pups usually know what is best for us - better than we do. They teach us to live in the moment and enjoy beauty. Thanks for reading and commenting. Give your pup some scritches in her favorite spot from me. 🐶🥰

One of the most healing parts of my life. When I fall away for a few weeks I feel a debilitating lack that sends me right back to the mat.

Thank you Jacque. I have some auto immune stuff and was having other issues. I went to a studio for, I think, 3 years and now I just do it every evening at home. The meditation at the end is major for me too. I also have healing sound on. I love when I see others get involved in it. It really has to become a habit. ✨🌙💫
