My life changed the day Anne Lamott told our Community of Writers in A Writing Room, “You have words due.”
I realized then that I had a calling to not hoard my words.
I have a duty to write them.
I have a duty to share them.
I have a duty to treat my body, my brain, and my mindset with lovingkindness, so I am able to write.
This is my debt of honor.
Words hoarded in my body block channels of healing.
Words hoarded in my body can never help someone else.
Writing springs up from the depths of my soul.
Ink lands on the page.
And I am grateful.
I have words due.
YOU have words due.
Our readers are waiting, longing for our words.

So very true. Writing is like breath for me. It sustains me, and brings me joy, and I hope by releasing my words - my breath - I share joy and sustenance with others. Thank you for putting this into words. You inspire me!
Yes! Our writing is our legacy. It may not always be perfect or polished, but it will outlive us—carrying our thoughts, our heart, and our voice into the future.
Long after we take our final breath, our words will still have the power to uplift, inspire, and remind others what’s possible. Dr. Seuss wrote, “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”
Your writing is you.
Leave your mark. Share your story. Create the legacy only you can write.
