A few months ago, a writer-friend, Jenn Jones Nienaber, told me about Tertulia.com, an easy platform for authors to create websites.
I pasted in my book’s ISBN number and hit enter. It populated the trial site with my information and my book. If you have multiple books, it will list them all. If you haven’t published yet, no worries!
I began the whole process ten minutes before hosting a one-hour Silent Writing session at AWritingRoom.com (you are invited to join us, Writers!). If you have facilitated group events on Zoom, you know that there are a lot of moving parts to manage.
Feeling feral, I gave myself a double-dog dare with wild abandon: to set up my new website and press “Publish” before the end of Silent Writing. I started the Zoom timer for 60 minutes and began my race.
It’s important to note that I did not prepare for this task. When I woke up, I wasn’t even thinking about doing this today.
In that ONE hour, I created my website except for a couple of tiny finishing touches.
I’m happy to report that HappyJacqueBooks.com is live!
My wonderful husband created the domain name on the fly. It’s perfect!
After I hit “Publish,” Tertulia offered a referral incentive. I wasn’t looking for one. I would 100% recommend them anyway and was planning to.
