I love this! You have absolutely caught the essence of the writing process for many of us, right here in these lines; "One of my favorite things about writing is the element of surprise. When our minds connect to our arms to our hands to our pens and keyboards – surprise – is the result. We may have no idea what we are going to write about. We may think we have nothing to write about." This is almost always how my short little memoir pieces evolve!
Thank you Jacque! I am trying. I used to write and then pull my writing down and then add it back. It took me a while to have the confidence to just lay it all out there. AWR has helped me to fully embrace myself as a writer. I am getting to a place where I don't remember writing not being a part of my daily life, which is so weird to acknowledge. Why as writers, does it take some of us so long to step into our craft? I shake my head a lot when I consider all of the time I wasted doing other things. AWR and all of you, have helped me to create a real daily writing habit. This is all I have ever wanted as a writer...oh, and to finish a manuscript and become a published/paid writer, you know nothing too provocative. hahaha
Oh Jacque, this is beautiful and so funny! Sometimes our writing plays with us. I am so thankful for your presence in my life and the gift you are to AWR. 💞
I love this Jacque. I speak blah blah too. Frequently. Please do get this question to Anne! She gets us. She’ll have an answer. Thank you for this smile. I’m so grateful for you!! 🥰
Wow- so true, Jacque. So many times we writers sit down with a head scratch and fear in our gut when we touch the keyboard that nothing will come out. But somehow it always does. Even if it is a blah, blah, blah. Great start to a bushel full of essays- that boring teacher in high school, when your parents lectured you again about that thing, or even when reading that piece when oh so tired, and all you ingest is blah, blah, blah. I always look forward to sitting down to Silent Writing. It's like boarding a plane without knowing what the destination is. I guess that makes me a Pantser, eh? Keep up the great work and blah, blah, blah!!!

That is the BEST news! To embrace yourself, and claim your identity, as a Writer is the biggest leap forward toward your goals.
😃
Exactly. Lol. Thank you, Janet!
Ha ha ha!! And blah blah blah. Please ask Anne your question this afternoon!

Too funny..& then there is the piece waiting to be written about auto-correct. Seriously could start WWIII.
How true!
